CIMA (Women Filmmakers and Audiovisual Media Association) is an association of more than 200 professional women with a common goal: to promote equal representation of women in the audiovisual medium, contributing to the creation of a more egalitarian and diverse .
Did you know that only 8% of the films produced in Spain are run by women? In script and films with female participation not reach 20%, and no matter if we talk about film, television and documentaries: audiovisual creation is almost entirely in male hands. CIMA aims to change this situation.
Over 200 women professionals from all fields of the visual are part of this association: film directors, producers, writers, filmmakers television, documentaries, shorts, editors, business managers of the environment, women's crew chief creative departments or technical, etc. CIMA presents the views and interests of a wide range of sectors linked by a common motivation: to get women to have a voice and presence in the creation, management and industry of film and television.
Among the purposes of ICMA are the following:
1. Defender equal opportunities in access to positions of leadership and decisions of the audiovisual media and film, increasing their ownership and the influence of women and promote, in general, women's access to the audiovisual field.
2. Promote a more unbiased and real women in the media to help dignify the public image of women and help create reference images to new generations of women.
3. Promote equal presence of women in all public areas related to the media.
