Maite Ruiz de Austri is a Spanish writer, screenwriter and film and television director, specialized in programs for children and youth. It is the only female director of long feature animation films of Spanish cinema. So far she has directed five films and television series. Belongs to CIMA (Association of Women Filmmakers) and is a member of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences of Spain. Among the many important awards she has received in her long career include: two Goya Awards for best animated film Return of the North Wind (1995) and that neighbors such animals!
