Stop genre violence: My house is a hell

Alén Filmes is a production from Vigo during the first decade of the twenty-first century was devoted to stop-motion animation and clay, was nominated for major awards such as The Mestre Mateo in 2007, the best animated short films and being present in many festivals . My house is a hell is the first chapter of the animated series "Stories of the day to day." It tells the story of a women who survived domestic violence and now living in a shelter for women victims of bad behaviour.Una new life after the hell in which they will become their own homes. Women Animating: Reggina Pessoa

Born in Coimbra in 1969, Reggina Pessoa graduates at the Oporto University of Fine Arts. In 1992 begins working in Filmógrafo, where she collaborates as an animator. In 1999 animates and directs her first author film “A Noite” (The Night), engraving in plaster plates and won 9 awards.

In 2005 animates and directs her second short animation film “Tragic Story with Happy Ending”, whose project received 3 prizes in Annecy “Espace Projects” 2001. and recently won 26 awards including: Spécial Jury Award Cinanima’05, the CNC’06 Quality Award, the Best Animation award at Granada’06, the Special Jury Award at Anifest Trebon’06, the Grand Prix at SICAF’06, the Grand Prix at Annecy’06, the Prize Best of Section at Melbourne ’06, Nominee for the Cartoon d’Or 2006 – Europe, The Special International Jury Prize Hiroshima’06, the Grand Prix at Mecal’06 and a prize at AniMadrid’06.

She wanted to be drawer, designer and animator since she was a child as she said:

" I lived in the countryside in a small village near Coimbra until I was 17 years old. My entire universe was rural. We didn’t have television, which was very boring…but in retrospect, thinking things over, maybe it saved me. We read and listen to our elders telling stories. My uncle used to draw on the walls and on the doors of my grandmother’s home, with pieces of coal. Seeing my uncle drawing on the walls gave us a sense of freedom because we didn’t have paper and pencils but we always had walls and doors – maybe this stayed with me unconsciously because know, much later, it’s already the second film that I’m making in engraving technique..."

"COSAS DE MUJERES" Independent Production Company, awarded since the March 8th, 2010 to 30th October 2010, The Second Film Festival"MADE by WOMEN" to be held on 26th and 27th of November as part of the commemoration of the 25th November: Day of struggle for non-violence towards women.

Proposals may participate Audiovisual Shorts film made by women, on any subject, lasting up to 30 minutes, documentaries, fiction or animation, which do not contain scenes that denigrate or have scenes of violence against women, or contains sexist language, made from 2006.

Women in Animacam: Maribel Martínez

Maribel Martínez Galindo was born in Mexico D.F. He began her graphics career in the editorial world. She currently works as creative director in the area of animation and television post-Contacto within the image area Televisa, where the group in charge had won eighteen awards Promax (Promotion and Marketing) and BDA (Broadcast Design Association), plus Cordova festival Animacor 2008 Best Television Series and the Grand Prix of New York Animation Film Festival. His work was published in several books and magazines in design and creativity.

The Mexican author presented at the Second Edition of Animacam, an advertising campaign of seven TV spots, such as promotion of culture and Latin American literature: Imaginantes. Under the theme A Guideline for the imagination, in each capsule is talk of a great author (including Octavio Paz and José Luis Borges) or any of their works. Showing the time or key idea that inspired and relating it to the times we live in the most common of human beings.

Waves of time by Evgenia Gostrer

The German Evgenia Gostrer takes part in Animacam with Waves of time (Zeitwellen) with which we send a key message: "Commemoration, reality, imagination. Are there limits between these tides in our minds?"

From Kassel, a city in central Germany, Evgenia had a focused and specialized training in graphic design and communication so that in 2007 got the title animation school in Kassel, from which he developed this work in stop-motion, with an interesting staging.
